December 2012: on an icy night there's a sudden outbreak of activity in the vineyard. It's the Eiswein harvest. The thermometer's showing minus 13 degrees and the grapes are frozen like stones. Each year we keep back a few rows in our vineyards for this rarity. For the wine that's obtained from these grapes is something very special: since the water in the grapes is frozen, the must contains an exceptional amount of sugar. And that creates a unique taste.
