Beit She'an is an Ancient city which was historically known as Scythopolis, and during the Roman times was the leading city of the Decapolis, a league of pagan cities. The architecture and city layout was largely Hellenistic / Roman and even featured a thermal heated bath. It is one of the best preserved city ruins in Israel.
