The Commissioner for Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Loy Abaine Muhwezi has decried the quality of graduates passed out annually by the fully facilitated government TVET institutions. While opening the annual Assessors Competence based Training organized by the Uganda Business and Technical Examinations Board (UBTEB) at the Uganda Industrial Research Institute in Namanve, Muhwezi blamed lecturers for not fully utilizing the infrastructure and equipment in their institutions to ably deliver content to the learners.
She also noted the need to assess the examiners to ensure that only competent ones mark exams.
Meanwhile, the Executive Secretary UBTEB CPA Onesmus Owesigye noted a rise in the number of students embracing TVET learning, calling upon government to increase expenditure on schools infrastructure
