Mahatripurasundari, also known as Tripura Sundari or simply Lalita, is a principal goddess in Hindu Tantra. The name is a combination of several terms:

Maha: Great

Tripura: Three worlds (which can represent the physical, astral, and causal realms or the waking, dreaming, and deep sleep states)

Sundari: Beautiful woman


Thus, Mahatripurasundari means the "Great Beauty of the Three Worlds." She is seen as an embodiment of supreme beauty, grace, and divine feminine energy, and she represents the creative aspect of the universe. In Shaktism, she is also identified with Shakti, the consort of Shiva, and is worshipped as the ultimate goddess who pervades all of creation.

The core intention of this video was to demonstrate and celebrate Veena Vadyam. While the video does not explicitly reference Lalita Parameshwari with 'Maha Tripura Sundari', it centers on the all-encompassing feminine energy—within whom reside all other forms of female divinity, including the Tridevi, Nava Durga, Dash Mahavidya, and the Sapta/Ashta/Shodash Matrikas (depicted in the video playing music).

We also feature Naga Devi, the Goddess of Snakes, who is worshipped under various names, such as Manasa Devi in the North and Nagamma or Naga Thai southern regions of India. The reference to snake charming was a deliberate choice, to demonstrate how invoking of the Goddess of Serpents is initiated and carried out.

Kali holds a significant place among the top ten (if not top five) deities in Hinduism, specially in Mauritius, where we are situated; thus her heavy influence in the video. In the South, Kuladevams (family deities) such as Kurathiamman, Anagalamman, Bhadrakali, Mariamman, Thillai Kali, Viramathi Amman, Pachchai Amman, and Kateri Amman are often associated with Kali's attributes—dark complexion, fangs, weapons of war, etc. This backs up how predominant she is here.

In summary, the video was created with the purpose of celebrating if not promoting Veena Vadyam among Mauritians, while showing how every aspect of womanhood is connected to the primordial feminine energy.
