If you want to see a super tough folding knife, then here it is, the Extrema Ratio RAOII Expeditions. I chop hardwoods (eucalyptus-dead/seasoned), green timber, cut bush lemons (without making a mess) and cut through other fruits. All without damaging the folding mechanism!
Let's face it, folding knives in general are not designed to be used to hack off green tree branches, or bash through seasoned hardwood tree branches, and if one did, then you can expect to damage your folder. But can a folding knife really be used to perform such tasks? It can if it is the RAOII Expeditions. Watch to find out!
BTW I know many will say why not use a fixed blade it will be the best. My answer is of course it will be. However, if one likes a heavy duty folder which is half the length of a small/medium fixed blade, then this one might just satisfy you. Plus yes, ALL folding knives have drawbacks with a moving mechanism (dirt/mud ingress etc.). The advantage is the "folding" capability and this may be important to you.
There are other brands with other models sporting strong folders capable of doing things a regular folder can not do (at least not without potential damage). This is just one example.
If you want to see more chopping action then please watch my video on the RAOII Black version I made some years back.

This model also gets some serious use and to this day, no slop in the mechanism at all.
