월드뉴스3: NASA 수집한 "달 먼지" 경매에 나온다
Lunar dust gathered by the first man on the moon, Neil Armstrong, during the famous Apollo 11 mission is set to go under the hammer sometime in mid-April.
Estimates, by the auction company in charge, have placed its value at between 800-thousand to 1-point-2-million-US-dollars as it's the only known sample that can be sold legally.
However, the lunar sample has created some friction between its owner and NASA.
The owner bought the moon dust at an Illinois auction in 2015 for 995-dollars before asking the space agency to verify its origins.
Upon realizing the nature of the sample, NASA refused to return it, but was given a court order to do so.
Tests ahead of the upcoming coming auction have also verified its authenticity.
