In this weeks vlog we visit Monsaraz in the Alentejo region of Portugal.
We have a look at a very ambitious farming project, to bring the FIRST Red Wagyu (Akaushi) cattle into Europe.
A group of friends, businessmen and farmers got together to import the genetics to a very special breed of Japanese cow. Red Wagyu or Akaushi.
For the last 4 years they have spent a lot of time, effort, and money to bring this prestigious product to tables in Europe. A worlds First!
Wagyu means Japanese cow. Wagyu meat is famous for their rich flavour and marbled texture. Its known as the most luxurious red meat in the world!
We also visit the Lake Alqueva Observatory and get exclusive access to the facility and its telescopes.
We are Ken & Gina. In 2019 we decided to have a mid-life crisis!
We weren't happy with the way things were going for us, so before Brexit, we sold our home and most of our our belongings, and drove to Portugal in our campervan Bob.
We bought a stunning farm in Castelo Branco where we live the good life with our beautiful animals. Back in 2019, we could not find any videos on life here for expats, so we started this channel, documenting our move from the city life to the farm life and buying a farm.
