A famous actor, producer, director, DJ and musician Idris Elba, who has millions of fans all over the world, was born in London in 1972. He got interested in music as a child and at 16 was already popular in all London clubs, performing as a DJ Big Driis.
He debuted on a big screen in 1994 in 2point4 Children and became a recognized figure in the filmmaking business. Then he starred in TV series Bramwell which brought him international fame. In 2007 he began working actively with Hollywood producers and so, can be seen in such films as 28 Days Later, The Reaping, Thor, Long Walk to Freedom and so many more. During all Elba’s career he took part in over 30 projects.
And now it is time to see who surrounds such a multi-talented person and get to know them better.

Idris’ father Winston was born in Sierra Leone and moved to Great Britain together with a wife in a search of greener pastures. He worked at a Ford plant the biggest part of his life. He passed away in 2013, at the age of 72 from cancer.

The mother Eve is originally from Ghana. When she moved to London with a spouse, she used to work as a clerk. Idris is the only child in a family and so, parents did their best to give him education and bring him up a good man. Eve shares a tight bond with a son and is very proud of all his achievements.

The actor’s personal life is also quite interesting. He first got married in 1999 to a make-up artist and businesswoman Hanne Norgaard. This union lasted 4 years and resulted in a baby-girl. In one of the interviews, Elba’s daughter stated that her mom suffers from depression and bipolar disorder.

One more ex-wife is a lawyer Sonya Nicole Hamlin. They were introduced to each other by a common friend in 2005 and in 2006 tied the knot officially. However, they did it during a trip in Vegas and under the influence of alcohol. Perhaps that’s why this marriage lasted only a couple of months, from April 2006 till August 2006. The other possible reason for a divorce could be the following- Hamlin claimed that they really loved each other but the actor’s friends and public ruined everything.

Since 2012 and up till 2016, Idris had been romantically involved with a hairstylist and make-up artist Naiyana Garth. Despite the fact that they were not married, they became parents to a baby-boy. They broke up because of Elba’s cheating with several women.

In spring of 2019, a famous movie star espoused Sabrina Dhowre, who is a model of Somali origin. The two love birds had been dating for two years before walking down the aisle. It would be also interesting to know that the film performer never planned to get married again after having two divorces already. But it seems like his love to a beautiful Sabrina changed his mind.

In a marriage to Norgaard, Idris became a father to a daughter named Isan. She was delivered in 2002 and is now a student, residing in Atlanta. Isan want to follow her dad’s steps and be involved into the filmmaking industry one day soon. The actor is very supportive of daughter and often takes her to different events.

Winston is a son, who was born in 2014 with Garth. Even though Winston’s parents are not together anymore, he feels to be very close with dad, as they spend a lot of time together.
