This pictured LP was released in 1959, as a 12 inch LP, with both takes of this song contained therein. Take 1 was, according to Discogs.com, release previously as a 10 inch, 16 rpm disc. Here, both takes from the December 24, 1954 session are included in full, now in stereo mix by me. I have heard that simulated stereo pressings of this Prestige album exist, as this was recorded before multitracking was being utilized. These were recorded by Rudy Van Gelder, at his original studio location in Hackensack, New Jersey. Van Gelder would later build a state of the art studio in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey in 1959, and operated that studio until his passing in 2016.

I first heard this Davis recording in about 2022, and have loved it since, hope you enjoy it too!
