Hey guys,
welcome to Meterics, today we'll be having a look at the Uni-T digital Sound Level Meter. This is the UT352 model to be exact so this is a type 2 Sound Level Meter meaning that it has both A&C weighting frequencies. It's a pretty easy to use meter so I'm going to quickly go through it and show you how to use it. First thing you wanna do is make sure it's got batteries in it before we turn it on. Once that's done we're going to push the POWER button here. After you do that in a couple of seconds the LCD screen will turn on and you'll see an analog bar up top followed by some values that are from the sound levels being picked up. We'll quickly go through the buttons and next we have a button showing A&C and this is basically where you get the option to choose between A&C weighting frequencies. We have an A indicator that we're now on A frequencies, push that button and we get a C for C weighting frequencies. This is basically for your convenience based on what you'd like to use. Bellow the A&C button we have a FAST and SLOW button and what that does is it alternates the speed of the meters resolution. Right now its on FAST meaning that it's resolution is 125 ms and if you'd like to slow that down is you push the button then you'll get a SLOW indicator and that slows down the resolution to 1 sec. Bellow that, we have a MAX/MIN button. What this does is, it gives you an alternate function where you can get MAX for instance wen you push that, we get a MAX indicator here and a different value here. Now this is going to be the highest the sound level meters pick's up during the entire time and when we push this button again it changes from MAX to MIN and this will show you the lowest values, so if I decrease my volume we can see it dropping so that will keep in dropping and it'll only show the lowest value. Push that again and were out of that feature and we keep getting spontaneous random measurements of the sound that it's picking up. Next to that we have two arrow keys here with LEVEL bellow them. What these two do is to give you the option to choose what range you'd like to have on the analog up here and currently we're on 60-110, if we push it here we can get 80-110, push that again we get 80-130 and you can basically go down again we have 50-100, 30-80. That's basically up top you or you can leave it and the meter has an auto function where the meter will basically chose a range for you. This meter has extra functions like memory so you can store some values in and you can also delete them. It can store up to about 60. I'm going to show you how to do that. We push the HOLD button which gets the reading you'd like to store and then we will push the FAST/SLOW button. Up here it says STORE. Once you've pushed that we've seen that this has record one. To do that again is easy, push the POWER button and the FAST/SLOW button and we can see that is record 2. Now to go through the records all you need to do is hold the A&C button and you can see up-top it says RECALL hold that for about a second then we get the values this is record 2, we can scroll though the recordings using these arrow keys here. We currently have two readings. Another feature of this meter that we've not talked about is the back-light. the back-light is also on the STORE button. The FAST /SLOW and all you need to do hols for about a second and a very bright illuminating light comes on and you hold that again and it goes off. Now our final feature is how to clear the records. We need to turn it off by holding the power button for about a second and it goes off. To clear the records,we hold down the CLR button and the POWER button at the same time. We'll get a CLR indicating clear. Now in we try and go through the records we see there are no records on it. So that's basically our meter and how to use it. I hope you liked the video and I hope to see you gain next time.
Cheers!
