What are benefits and drawbacks of buying in Mountain View?

The biggest benefit of buying in Mountain View is the location. Downtown MV is super desirable & offers a lot of fun restaurants & shops..If you want a change of pace, Downtown Sunnyvale & Downtown Palo Alto are only a 10-15 minute drive away. MV also offers great schools, close proximity to Stanford, Google, & the weekly farmer's market. The main con is that the RE market is super competitive.
