Did you know the owners form a board of directors that oversees the management of the building year to year - if you own a condo you can get involved in the management of the building and have a say on how the money is spent.
Rules for how a condo operates are governed by Provincial legislation called the Ontario Condominium Act. Whether your buying a condo in Toronto, Pickering, Ajax, Whitby or Oshawa, the rules for managing condos are the same.
If you’re buying a condo, the property management is obligated to provide you with the financials – called a Status Certificate. I'll be explaining that in my next video.
