Paderborn is a city in eastern North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, capital of the Paderborn district. The name of the city derives from the river Pader and Born, an old German term for the source of a river. The river Pader originates in more than 200 springs near Paderborn Cathedral, where St. Liborius is buried.

•Paderborn Cathedral is the cathedral of the Catholic Archdiocese of Paderborn. It is located in the city centre of Paderborn, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The cathedral is dedicated to Saint Mary, Saint Kilian and Saint Liborius. The official German name is Hoher Dom Ss. Maria, Liborius und Kilian.

•The LWL Museum in the Imperial Palace is located in the East Westphalian city of Paderborn in North Rhine-Westphalia in the immediate vicinity of the cathedral. It presents finds from Carolingian, Ottonian and Saxon times. It is located on the spot where the foundations of the Palatinate Paderborn from the 8th century and a later complex from the time of Henry II were found during construction work in 1964. They are part of today's building fabric and can still be seen very well in the masonry of the museum. In 1964, Charlemagne's imperial palace was found right next to today's museum. The outline of this complex can now only be seen through the reconstructed foundation walls. The regional association of Westphalia-Lippe is responsible for the state museum. •Wewelsburg is a Renaissance castle located in the village of Wewelsburg, which is a district of the town of Büren, Westphalia, in the Landkreis of Paderborn in the northeast of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The castle has a triangular layout, with three round towers connected by massive walls. After 1934 it was used by the SS under Heinrich Himmler, and was to be expanded into a complex which would serve as the central SS cult-site.

•Neuhaus Castle in Paderborn's Neuhaus district, named after him, is an important building of the Weser Renaissance. It is in an island-like location at the confluence of the Lippe, Alme and Pader rivers in the southeast corner of the Westphalian Bay.
