The exhibited work takes a look at BART//BRATKE’s work as speculative research office and their workflow at the intersection of architecture and mobility. Enabling for resilient and adaptable architecture systems and installations that can react to their surrounding as dynamic constructs with changing needs in real time, we are investigating the concept of architecture as a platform of circular building lifecycles for nomadic structures and adaptive environments.
Striving towards an age of an on-demand society, predefined by the acceleration in information and knowledge sharing, our surroundings must be enabled to negotiate temporary spaces for techno-social communication in an otherwise public environment, more driven by big data analysis, machine learning and optimization algorithms. Questions of permeability, flexibility, interaction and identification must be tackled by new resilient architectural systems without losing the notion of a human centered environment. The exhibited work investigates design strategies for dynamic architectures that engage with their surrounding defined by flows of information and its materialization in speculative infrastructure and architectural scenarios that are deployable in multiple regions.
