In Mauritania rising temperatures are fuelling Sahara expansion and desertification, leading to food insecurity and poverty. The intervention is part of the African Union’s Great Green Wall initiative aiming to create green, productive landscapes across North Africa, the Sahel and the Horn of Africa to stop the sand and recover vital rural communities' livelihoods.
