RV black tank treatments tested. Why does it look like Happy Campers tank treatment doesn't break down waste and solids like the other treatments? Happy Campers can NOT be tested in a plastic bag or container with just water and tissue or dog food.
Why? Because Happy Campers is NOT an enzyme based tank treatment. Enzyme based treatments will break down waste in a container with water because they are actually introducing bacteria and enzymes into the water or container.
This video is to help clarify some misconceptions about how Happy Campers Holding tank Treatments work and whether or not it actually helps to break down solids. To see why popular YouTube tests like the ones shown below won't work with Happy Campers, we'll need to understand the role of bacteria and enzymes that are naturally occurring in human waste.
Happy Campers is a micronutrient based holding tank treatment. It does not introduce enzymes or bacteria into the tank or container. Happy Campers relies on the naturally occurring bacteria and enzymes in human waste to work. The micronutrients in Happy Campers RV holding tank treatment do two things;
1) Some of the micronutrients work to inhibit the growth of "bad" odor causing bacteria and encapsulate bad odor causing solids.
2) Some of the micronutrients work to support the growth of "good" bacteria that produce enzymes that actually break down solids.
To see if Happy Campers tank treatment actually liquifies solids, it is necessary to test it in the holding tank environment along with human waste.
We always appreciate a mention, but when testing Happy Campers against other RV Tank Treatments, please make sure to use real world tests in the holding tank.
