Please read: Visser turned a once happy customer (despite issues) into a pissed off customer that no longer trusts the brand. He contacted me via StripersOnline asking if I could talk, and take a look at the reel.
What you see in the video, was exactly how the customer received the reel after being serviced by the manufacturer. The reel had not seen use since being serviced.
Bear in mind, the customer sent Visser a note letting them know that he suspected saltwater intrusion. They acknowledged receipt of that information.

Purchased the reel on 11/11/2020 from J&H tackle
And I’m pretty sure one of the seals failed that protects the clutch and main gear. I’m seeing milky grease inside the housing and the main gear has rust on it. This shouldn’t happen to a 10 day old reel

Hello (redacted), your absolutely correct! We have to see why it failed so please send it to our service center.

THIS IS HOW VISSER DESCRIBES THE WORK THAT WAS PERFORMED (and what you see in the video is how it was received by the customer)
"We replaced the spool shaft seal assembly and clutch housing nut and main seal on your reel and re greased the gear case. FYI the grease we initially lube the reels with is a bit milky in nature. There is a slight chance that the spool shaft seal may leak again in the future. We have experienced one other reel that may have took in a little water and have already redesigned the seal and upgraded the actual seal material. New seals are being manufactured as we speak. They will be available the end of December. Once they arrive I can send you a new seal with instructions on how to replace it."
