What is Breast Reconstruction following Breast Cancer? Breast Cancer as you all of you know is a very common disease nowadays and with all the advances in imaging modalities and awareness the breast cancer gets detected earlier and earlier and we have also seen that lots of younger people are getting diagnosed with breast cancer. A breast cancer if detected very early may involve a simple surgery of breast reconstruction like what is known as a local oncoplasty that means that the same breast tissues are used to reconstruct the breast. It may be slightly smaller but it maintains the shape of the breast.
