Seeing as I had some success with my previous emulator run with Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, I thought of taking this a bit more seriously, whether it's ironic or not, to the start of the 8th generation of consoles, with the Wii U.
Up until effectively today, I thought running anything on Cemu was just not possible no matter what. That changed a whole lot, and seeing the solid performance of RPCS3, I thought of giving this one another try. Thanks to the Wii U USB Helper, I was finally able to get a Wii U game working on PC, at last!
As it'd be expected, apart from some compiling stutters, the game ran perfectly fine. This is, however, only at 1080p, and so I'm certain that the power of my new computer isn't being completely exploited. Someone had done a video on this exact game back in June 2020 at 4K, still running well with an RTX 2080, which is inferior to the 2080 Ti (someone else tested this with this exact GPU in December 2019), and, of course, the 3070, which is what I have. So, for those who are seeking to emulate the game and have something at least close to the level of, say, an RTX 2070 or 2080, this should run just fine even at 4K! Even still, it's perfectly playable, and you shouldn't stumble upon any major issues!
As for the game itself, I was able to just use the mouse for the GamePad controls whenever needed, something that I realized mid-game. Regardless, Mario Party 10 is a significant improvement over Mario Party 9 in terms of aesthetics and roster, and may be considered one of the most beautiful Wii U games to exist, although everything else about it is just as terrible, if not worse, thanks to the severe lack of extra game modes, and less boards than in the previous game, all just to play as Bowser...
