Thank you for all the amazing support, wonderful Khanyisa friends and fosters! Thank you for helping to get her to this point - a happy, healed and healthy 2 year old elephant and the sweetest pink baby we've had the privilege to get to know.
Her rehabilitation from a four month old snare victim weighing 124 kgs, to a recovered and integrated bold, brave more than 345 kg elephant, has been a challenging but incredibly rewarding, inspiring and moving journey. It has shown us the incredible capacity for selflessness, compassion and generosity of humankind, worldwide.
Khanyisa and her path alongside Lammie the loving Legend, new nanny Nungu, her human herd of carers, and her elephant family of fifteen welcoming elephants... it has inspired us through good and difficult times, it has taught us all around this great planet more about the elephant species than we ever expected to share with you.
Through Adine's videos we've formed the closest community of elephant custodians, and through the Carers' wisdom and experience, we've been able to get insight into a species that needs all the support and protection and understanding that it can get.
Thank you Khanyisa for being a shining light, for uniting a global village of friends and supporters, and for accepting help from humans to give you a second chance at life and a future with your own kind, in a herd dynamic to help you thrive.
