If, for some reason, you were not celebrated as a child in the expression of your truth through your heart, your body will clamp down. We all get into a habit of the things we're okay expressing. The things we aren't okay expressing but feel anyway, get stuck in our bodies. Then we cannot be fully available because we have knots of unfelt feelings.
So you have to create space to "clear the pipes" and express those unfelt emotions. For example, you can hit a pillow with a plastic bat for 1 minute to express anger; or find a place in nature where you feel nourished and held, and then get into a child's pose and weep onto the bare ground from your heart and solar plexus as a way of expressing grief.
Creating a regular practice of self-expression will exercise that muscle and make you more available for love.
