I've back squatted 405lbs for a PR but can usually hit 365lbs after a layoff from barbell work.
Still, I perform Double Kettlebell Front Squats as my primary bilateral squatting movement.
When loaded with double 32kg kettlebells, the DBFS offer much more than load. To me, this movement is all about a strong midsection and upper back.
The upright position that the bells place on the athlete provide a huge stimulus for strong quadriceps and hips. The requirement to own the bells in a solid front rack position ensure immense upper back and abdominal strength that makes this movement my choice for lower body training.
