British Liberal Democrat member of Parliament David Ward has had the party whip withdrawn over comments he made about Israel. The move comes after a long-running dispute with the party's leadership. The withdrawal means he has been expelled from the parliamentary party, although the MPs' summer break ends on September 2nd. Back in January, Ward posted comments on his website about the Holocaust and Palestine. He then subsequently posted comments on Twitter. The international community continues to keep a close eye on the scandal, as Israeli-Palestinian peace talks resume. Ward's suspension expires on September 14th, the first day of the Liberal Democrats annual conference in Glasgow.
