In this video, Trent Horn and I discuss the absence of ancient non-christian sources for Jesus. Trent was wanting to know more about the mythicist position on the ancient silence around Jesus. I don't think that is positive proof that Jesus didn't exist, I just think that it doesn't help the historicist hypothesis. It is curious that there were no extra-biblical non-christian sources mentioning Jesus but that still could be true for a minimal historicist view of Jesus. I think the claims of the Gospels not being mentioned by ancient non-christian historians is a blow to that idea of Jesus. Both Trent and I fundamentally disagree on the Gospel version of Jesus though.
