In an exclusive interview to ThePrint, Mullappally Ramachandran, president of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), said that the promise in UDF manifesto of bringing new legislation pertaining to "protecting Sabarimala traditions" is not violative of gender equality. He also spoke about BJP's efforts to make inroads in Kerala, and the Kerala Congress (M)'s split from the UDF.
