SUMMARY --
A beautiful clear sky with many miles of visibility, in a neighborhood open space, top of a hill, level groomed grass, launch site in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Vertical takeoff to 200+ feet, no horizontal movement at all. The aircraft obtained stable elevation and GPS location quickly and easily. Set video setting to one of the lowest. Video recording started, use yaw control to turn the Typhoon 360 degrees on the vertical axis. Yaw was smooth and responsive. Descent was easily controlled while maintaining the same GPS position automatically.
NARRATIVE --
I took the drone to a park and flew the drone straight up. It rose to a little over 200 feet above the ground. You can see quite an expansive view from that height.
The video quality is excellent taken at Full HD 1080p 30fps. The CGO3 Gimbal Camera supports up to UHD 4K 30fps (not tested). This 3:19 video was saved as a MP4 1.05 gigabyte file on a MICRO SD 16 gigabyte memory card (provided). It took a few minutes to upload to YouTube, but as you can see the resolution is gorgeous -- oh, and by the way, the 'gorgeous' video mode was set.
Simply by turning the Typhoon around the vertical axis (yaw control), an excellent view of the surrounding area is captured. The Typhoon did not travel horizontally any significant distance, it basically flew straight up then down.
The aircraft is very stable and easy to control. I used 'Smart' mode and 'Turtle' mode which uses GPS to keep the aircraft on location and the pilot's actions are converted to slow, stable and controlled flight maneuvers.
