How do I get stronger in the squat? That was the first question I asked myself. There are many methods to get you there but this one intrigued me the most. I have tried multiple different programs out there, but the Bulgarian Squat everyday program really sparked my interest. I did a bit of research and got under way. The true Bulgarian program was too extreme as it called for multiple training sessions per day. Instead I did the "Bulgarian light" program which was essentially a squat everyday program where you squat 7 days a week, instead of 14+ times a week. That was 3 years ago now. I made pretty good progress but I ultimately had to stop the program because of an injury I sustained while playing Basketball. I rolled my ankle really badly. Broke a bone in my foot and spent multiple weeks inactive.
After I healed I got back into training slowly but I didn't continue with the program. I briefly made another attempt few months after that but that didn't last due to another Basketball related injury.
This time I'm fully committed to the program and I am happy to state, I'm no longer at risk of injury due to Basketball. My plan is to squat every single day of the week, ass to grass and with no belt or knee sleeves. I plan to squat to a maximum single rep each day and then perform back-off sets. I will experiment with the back off sets. Double, triples, fives and sometimes even sets of 10. Hopefully, my commitment pays off and I get stronger and increase my 1RM. My previous best back squat is 190kg. I hope to crack the 200 mark and go beyond. Im excited!
