Why do we paint the anchor chain? So that we can know how much scope we’ve put out.
We have 250 feet of total chain and divided into 25 foot lengths for painting. We follow the color scheme of Red, yellow, blue, white and orange. Also marking the end of the chain with red/ white and blue as a warning that the end is near.
