PUTIN-PASHINYAN MEETING

Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan met on Wednesday Russian president Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) hosted in Vladivostok.
During the meeting, Putin noted that Russia retains a confident first place among trade and economic partners of Armenia. The trade turnover is increasing, by some 25-30 percent recently, he added.
Putin noted: “Certainly, one of the most sensitive issues is the security situation around Nagorno-Karabakh.”

Pashinyan, in turn, noted that as for ensuring security in Karabakh, there are nuances that would be useful to discuss later.

He also expressed hope to improve relations with Turkey with Russia’s assistance.
Pashinya added that there are intensive talks with Azerbaijan regarding the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) issue.

Talking about the Ukraine conflict, Pashinyan said: “Focusing the attention of the international community and Russia on the Ukrainian issue may lead to the destabilization of the situation in the South Caucasus.
According to him, the history of mankind consists of a chain and sequence of difficult times, and therefore any crisis brings new risks but opens new opportunities.
US REP TO VISIT ARMENIA

Ambassador Philip Reeker, the new US Senior Adviser for Caucasus Negotiations and new Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group for the US, will visit the countries of the South Caucasus this week. Vedant Patel, Principal Deputy Spokesperson at the Bureau of Global Public Affairs at the US Department of State, noted about this during Tuesday’s State Department press briefing.
Patel noted that this will be Reeker's first trip in this new role.
APARTMENTS PRICES

The average market prices of apartments in Yerevan multi-family houses rose substantially this July as compared to the same month last year the press service of the RA State Statistics Committee informed NEWS.am.
For example, the average price of a square meter of apartment in downtown Yerevan makes 742,500 drams, while in July 2021 it was 625,100 drams. The growth made 18.8%.
The number of real estate deals in Yerevan in July this year compared with the same month in 2021, has decreased. In particular, in July of this year there were 1414 and in July 2021 - 1656 deals, the reduction made 14,6%.
COVID-19 AFFECTS

More than 10.5 million children worldwide have lost a parent or caregiver, and 7.5 million children have lost one or both parents to the COVID-19 pandemic, a new study estimates.
This sobering statistic far exceeds previous estimates and continues to grow.
The findings were published in the journal JAMA Pediatrics.
According to the researchers, only the United States and Peru have made national commitments to address children orphaned by COVID-19.
