Gorgeous hike on the rocky shore of Georgian Bay in Killarney Provincial Park. It is a short hike (3-4 km), but it is rated as moderate because of having to climb up and down large rocks. If you have shoes or boots with good treads, however, it is not very difficult.
We camped at George Lake Campground within the Provincial Park, and drove over to the trail, which is just outside the main entrance to the campground. There is a parking lot for the Chikanishing Trail, but you need to have a park camping or day-use pass for your vehicle. You can get the pass at the George Lake Campground main entrance.
One other fun thing that I like to do is collect stickers from Ontario Provincial Parks in their passport book. It is a small book with a page for each provincial park in Ontario, and the parks sell the passport books and stickers to add to the pages once you have visited. Some people prefer to collect patches to sew onto backpacks or camp blankets. You can order the passport books, stickers, and patches online, as well.
