While a typical house can last for 50 years or more, a typical roof usually lasts for about 25 years. In Mount Juliet and surrounding areas (extending throughout the southeast), it is more common for roof repairs to be needed more frequently. We have extreme temperatures and frequent storms, including heavy winds, hail, and torrential rain; these storm elements may batter tiles or other roof fixtures to weaken them over time, or they may cause dramatic damage in one go.
Specific problems include:
Excess moisture – overflowing gutters, poor ventilation, and of course our storms weaken tiles and flashing, which means that water gets in the attic where it may shred support beams and weaken your ceiling.
Loose flashing – the flashing covers roof joints and the joints between the roof and chimneys, skylights, or other features. Flashing loosens over time even without assaults from moisture, fallen tree limbs, and wind.
Missing shingles – strong winds may nudge tiles out of place, as can windblown debris or rot from mold. While you may notice shingles in your driveway or yard, if you don’t visually inspect your roof, you may notice that there’s a problem.
Whatever the reason for roof damage, our professionals at Centennial Construction provide outstanding repairs or full-on replacements. Contact us at 615-785-1181 or email us. We are in business to make your home safe, comfortable, and stylish.
