The Nimitz-class carriers, which have been in service since the 1970s, are approximately 1,092 feet (333 meters) long and have a displacement of around 100,000 tons.
In contrast, the Ford-class carriers are significantly larger. They are about 1,106 feet (337 meters) long and have an estimated displacement of over 100,000 tons.
The Ford-class carriers incorporate several new technologies and design improvements compared to the Nimitz class, including an electromagnetic aircraft launch system (EMALS), advanced radar systems, and increased automation.
Therefore, the Ford-class carriers are larger and more advanced than the Nimitz-class carriers.
