Resin and scrap wood bowls are a fun project to make. Woodturning resin produces a fun stream of shavings that seem to float through the air. Here you'll see resin casting techniques for creating the resin blank, adding colorant to the resin bowl blank, pouring resin into molds and curing in a casting epoxy pressure pot, removing the resin bowl blank from the molds, etc. From there, I do the woodturning, and turn the resin bowl in my shop using a negative rake carbide insert disc from Easy Wood Tools. Then I coated the resin bowl with Minwax Wipe-on poly. Wood turning with resin and wood bowl blanks is a fun process!
George Vondriska ([ Ссылка ]) provided me with this great resin and wood blank that he designed to look like a patchwork quilt. If you are not familiar with George's work, definitely check out his Instagram feed, and find more of his work at the Woodworkers Guild of America (wwgoa.com).
