See what it was like embarking a cruise ship at the Galveston Cruise Terminal at the Port of Galveston, Texas USA! Our cruise ship was the Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas. This vlog was the beginning of our Western Caribbean cruise departing in February 2019. We drove in, passed through downtown Houston, the Galveston Causeway, and parking at a lot nearby the terminal.
We saw and passed by the Carnival Terminal which was terminal 1- Carnival Vista was docked there. The Royal Caribbean embarkation area was at terminal 2, which didn't look as impressive as terminal 1. The embarkation process was also no where as fast as the ones we experienced on the Oasis OTS, Allure OTS, or even Explorer of the Seas. There just didn't seem to be enough customer service personnel to check in the massive amount of people boarding the Liberty, and the entire process took nearly 1 1/2 hours. We got to port at around 10:20 AM and was surprised that inside the terminal there was already so many guests waiting! We finally board the cruise ship at around noon, perfect time to eat lunch (and it was a pretty delicious one at the Windjammer buffet).
We also enjoyed nice views as the Liberty OTS sailed away from the Port of Galveston at around 4:10 PM. We saw many industrial ships such as the SCF Angara and oil tankers like the Cabo Forward. Finally our ship passed by the Galveston Naval Museum and the Seawolf Park on Pelican Island.
