Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb is set to deliver his 2024 State of the City address at noon on Thursday, March 28.
The mayor's speech will take place from a sold-out Mimi Ohio Theatre at Playhouse Square. 3News will stream the event live at noon inside this story as well as on the WKYC app, WKYC+, and our YouTube page.
The State of the City comes a little more than a week after Cleveland City Council approved most of Bibb's proposed budget for the new fiscal year, a measure that notably cuts nearly 150 allotted positions for the Division of Police (the department is still almost 200 officers short of its budgeted goal, however). Bibb has sought to improve recruitment and retention of officers with his RISE Initiative, and earlier this week the city's police academy announced a class of 52 recruits that is larger than the previous four classes combined.
