Welcome to Plague Tale Innocence. In A Plague Tale: Innocence, as a player, you primarily control Amicia, a young girl who must protect her younger brother Hugo while navigating a dangerous world filled with enemies, rats, and environmental challenges. Here’s what you need to do:

1. Survive Stealth Encounters:
You’ll frequently face soldiers from the Inquisition. Combat is limited, so you must rely on stealth to avoid detection and move through enemy territories unnoticed.
Use tall grass, shadows, and distractions (like throwing objects) to sneak past enemies.
2. Solve Puzzles:
Many sections require you to solve environmental puzzles. This often involves using light sources to repel rats or manipulating objects to clear paths.
You’ll need to manage light carefully since the plague-infected rats fear fire but will attack in darkness.
3. Control the Rat Swarms:
The game introduces swarms of rats that can kill both enemies and the player. You'll learn to manipulate these rats by using torches, fire, and certain alchemical tools to clear paths or eliminate enemies.
4. Protect and Care for Hugo:
As Amicia, your primary goal is to protect Hugo. You must keep him close during dangerous moments, holding his hand or guiding him to safety.
At times, you’ll have to leave him briefly to solve puzzles or find safe routes, so you need to plan carefully.
5. Craft and Upgrade Tools:
Throughout the game, you’ll collect resources to craft items like ammunition, alchemy tools, and upgrades for your sling and equipment.
Use these items to create distractions, ignite fires, or fight off enemies when necessary.
6. Engage in Storytelling:
The game is heavily narrative-driven. As you progress, you uncover the tragic story of Amicia, Hugo, and their family's connection to the plague. Dialogues and cutscenes play a crucial role in driving the plot forward.
