A teacher leads a moderation activity with two colleagues in order to ensure that consistent and comparable judgments about student learning are made to meet curriculum and school requirements. She leads two colleagues through an assessment moderation meeting for a recent Indonesian assessment task. Each teacher has taught a year 8 class and undertaken a common assessment task with their class. Using agreed marking criteria, the teacher leads her colleagues through an examination of some recorded role-plays in order to reach agreed understandings about how the criteria should be applied within the assessment moderation.
