Teaching and learning has been disrupted for the past two months, at Hluvukani Primary School in Xanthia village, Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga.
Parents shut down the school in March to get the attention of the Department of Education. They are complaining that the school is dilapidated and not safe for teaching and learning. In 2012 a block of classrooms was blown away by strong winds and government promised to build them a school by 2019, but it's yet to deliver. And to make things worse, early this week six classrooms were burnt down.
