Nucleic acids and structural materials in biomaterials. In this video, you will explore the Structural Materials of the Body & Their Functions. You will learn about the Major Categories of Organic Biomolecules: Structural vs. Functional: Carbohydrates, Lipids, Proteins, and Nucleic Acids.
In the human genome, approximately 3.2x109 nucleotides are distributed over 23 pairs of chromosomes, for a total of 46.
Twenty-two of these pairs, called autosomes, look the same in both males and females. The 23rd pair, the sex chromosomes, differs between males and females.

In the fields of molecular biology and genetics, a genome is the genetic material of an organism. It consists of DNA. The genome includes both the genes and the noncoding DNA, as well as mitochondrial DNA and chloroplast DNA.
the haploid (having a single set of unpaired chromosomes.) set of chromosomes in a gamete or microorganism, or in each cell of a multicellular organism.
Diploid cells: cells that have pairs of chromosomes (Somatic cells).
Haploid cells: cells that have only one of each chromosome (Gametes or germ cells, sex cells).
