Listen to these powerful voices of Indigenous resistance from recently contacted Hongana Manyawa people of Halmahera Island, Indonesia. Tupa, her daughter Ngawate and their relative Ngigoro are Indigenous Hongana Manyawa people calling for an end to the nickel mining that is destroying their territory. There are many mining companies like Weda Bay Nickel operating on their lands as part of a project to mine minerals for electric car batteries. This threatens to completely wipe out the uncontacted Hongana Manyawa, who are defending their rainforest from exploitation.

#TribalVoice is a project by Survival International, the global movement for tribal peoples. More than one hundred and fifty million people in over sixty countries live in tribal societies.
From the Amazon to the Kalahari, from the jungles of India to the Congo rainforest, Tribal Voice gives them a platform. They experience appalling racism and genocidal violence. Their lands and resources are stolen for profit. Their ways of life are being deliberately and systematically destroyed.
Here they speak out about what matters to them; watch, listen, and get involved: [ Ссылка ]
