In this livestream, we will go through the steps of creating a deep learning model for an image dataset, showcasing several tools available in MATLAB along the way. We will start by going over various image processing techniques, then we will go through a real example of building, testing, and using a deep learning model for image-to-image regression.
Looking for somewhere to apply these skills? We will also talk about an ongoing online competition, The BioMassters, that challenges participants to create a model for a satellite imagery dataset.

About the presenters:
Ryan Weinstein is a content developer at MathWorks, where he creates modular courseware to teach engineering concepts using MathWorks products. He graduated from Tufts University in 2021 with a degree in Data Science and a concentration in Education, and started working at MathWorks shortly after. When he was in school, he developed and taught content for K-12 engineering curricula and worked on various data science projects.
Grace Woolson is a data scientist at MathWorks, where she supports global student competitions such as the Women in Data Science Datathon and The BioMassters competition. She graduated from Hamilton College with a degree in Computer Science in 2021 and joined MathWorks a few months later. While in school, Grace conducted research in genetic programming, taught as a computer science teaching assistant, and served as an advisor at her career center.
