So here it is, my how-to on replacing the auxiliary belt, tensioner, and deflection pulley on my 2006 E46 318ci, I believe this guide will be relevant to all Beemers with the N42 or N46 engines. Hope you find the video helpful!
I found conflicting information on what the torque specs for the deflection pulley and tensioner should be. The general consensus was between 30-40nm, I tightened both of mine to 35nm and I haven't had any issues.
