Tropical Cyclone Activity and its Impact on Marine Ecosystems
Rut Pedrosa Pàmies will talk about tropical cyclone activity, the impact of ocean warming on these extreme weather events, and some of the marine ecosystem responses to tropical cyclones. She will focus on the impact of tropical cyclones on the deep Atlantic Ocean and will show different instruments and tools that can be used to evaluate the ecosystem response.
Rut Pedrosa Pàmies is a Research Scientist of the Ecosystems Center at the Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL). She is an oceanographer and a marine biogeochemist focusing on the cycling of elements in the environment, especially the biogeochemistry of carbon in the world’s oceans.
