For many centuries and up until recent years, Sufism in Palestine was celebrated with much respect and admiration. It reflected modesty and moderation in practicing the faith despite the nature of this faith.
The hills of Palestine embraced many wondering spirits that came in search of oneself and unity with the world.
One can witness the trace of those wondering Sufis and Darwish's on top of the hills in many Palestinian Villages from North to South.
Mawlana Jalal Ad-Din Al-Rumi said:
"My place is the placeless,
My trace is the traceless,
'Tis neither body nor soul,
for I belong to the soul of the Beloved.
I have put duality away,
I have seen that the two worlds are one;
One I seek, One I know, One I see, One I call"
