I hiked about 6 miles at Lake Waccamaw in NC, about 40 minutes west of Wilmington NC. This was a very nice park. The Lakeshore Trail is a bit grown in some areas. There are some side trails that are not clearly marked, and it is easy to take a wrong turn, so pay close attention to the blazes. Around the pier and picnic areas were a bit crowded and loud, but the trails were quiet and there is lots to see if you keep your eyes open. FYI- I stated a little frog on the trail, but it was actually a toad.
