(Sacramento) -- California State Assemblymember Tom Daly (D-Anaheim) rose on the Floor of the Assembly to honor the retirement of Orange County's first Vietnamese-American Superior Court Judge. The Honorable John Nho Trong Nguyen was a congressman in his native Vietnam. He came to the United States as a refugee in 1975. Nguyen earned an MBA at Cal Poly Pomona and then went on to receive his law degree from Western State University. Nguyen was appointed to the bench in July of 2000. Assemblymember Daly thanked Judge Nguyen for his service.
"I commend his outstanding judicial leadership and congratulate him on a well-earned retirement," said Assemblymember Daly.
