History & Story:
Back in the year 1954, a man by the name of Walter “Bruiser” Cole, Ferried an Old Greyhound bus across the river to this rock. It was said that Bruiser was looking for a good fishing spot. Ever since then, he kept adding on to his Bus. He installed electricity, and a water supply. Bruiser eventually claimed a deed to the rock after years on his rock. Bruiser managed to keep his camp after the State of WV issued a State Clean-Up in the 70s. In 2012, Mr. Cole was 81 when he passed. It's said he didn't return much to his camp as he grew in age. One things for sure, he left his mark in Gauley Bridge,
