We explore the new Dist OPAMP 21 from Arturia, part of the new FX Collection 3. OPAMP 21 is a recreation of the SansAmp Classic produced by New-York-based Tech 21. The harmonics added by the distortion can range from harsh - which is good for guitars and some keyboards and synths - to more subtle and mellow. As such it has found uses as both an input effect on guitars into digital mixing environments, and as a track or bus effect on mixes
