Not the easiest place to get to on the planet, but well worth, especially if you are a scuba diver, located in the most marine biodiverse place on earth.
Papua Explorers Resort is a great place to stay and ideally located for the great dive sites.
So what did I see? Basically a lot of beautiful and strange fish, including Wobbegong Sharks, Stingrays, Bicolor Angelfish, Blacktip Reef Sharks, Leaf Scorpionfish, Frogfish, Batfish, Papuan Garden Eel, Walking Sharks, Bumphead Parrotfish, Crocodilefish to name a few.
I was there 6 days, but could have easily stayed for 2 weeks.
Nature at its very best and IMHO, the best diving in the world. Note: I have dived in Palau, Sipadan, Fiji, Tahiti, Andaman Sea, Bali, Gulf of Thailand also.
You have to go there folks. Life is short.
