This video captures the progression of my recently restored 15’ Chestnut Chum Wood Canvas Canoe in a non instructional manner. The project spanned a year and a half which didn’t make a video series practical. The timeline covers over a year and a half due to only having time to work on the Chum an hour here and an hour there. My inspiration and desire to tackle a wood canvas canoe restoration was because of the influence of Robin Lauer @RobinLauer who is a true traditional canoe paddler and has restored many Chestnut brand canoes. I just had to give it a try. I will discuss in my near future canoe trip exactly what I restored on the chestnut chum and some detail on how I achieved the results that I did.
